shunning... the last time I read the Bible it said : treat him as a tax collector...shunning articles are another means of fear and control

1975....blaming its members for its fiasco... Watchtower articles were written where it stated that brothers,sisters read too much into what was written

field service reports....I don't remember any followers of Jesus who counted hours and return visits..the service reports are a means to control and manipulate members to pass out literature...doing the dirty work of the WTBTS

I don't see one scripture on one not growing a beard...somehow no one puts up a fight on this matter..

I mean, c'mon, what's the point? When is mankind going to bet a break from God's never ending mismanaged disaster tour?

Just like the never ending final tour from KISS and Cher, this final tour of Satan and his Demons finally ends at the end of the 1,000 year reign of Christ.

After finally making it to Paradise and having to attend another 1000 years of Kingdom Hall meetings, now Satan and his Demons are coming after me again with fury. For some reason, God has to test me again for my loyalty. Talk about an insecure God!

Why doesn't Satan ever go away? Why does God need to test me even more?

So, what did God ( supposedly ) solve by wiping out wicked humans in Noah's day and having all the new descendants with the same DNA ( WICKEDNESS ) ? Why even bother wiping out those evil humans when new descendants would be no better?

So yes! drunkeness and sexual sin soon returned to the cleansed earth. Re-introduced by the family saved through the destructive flood.

I always wonder why God has to "destroy" things. Can't he just make it disappear? Why destroy?

Instead he decides to have a peasant build a gigantic boat -- with the angels sitting around watching again - and then once he finishes, decides to wipe out all animals and plant life and destroy entire ecosystems.

Ananias and Sapphira were immediately struck dead ( a fast and easy death) because they held back money from the congregation.

Why didn't God do the same in Noah's Flood? Why wipe out animals, plant life, and every living thing when you can easily have all wicked humans expire ( heart attack ????) like Ananias and Sapphira?

This silly story makes no sense!

God destroys people that are violent and wicked. He destroys animals, humans, and everything alive except Noah and his family.

They start a new life but violence and wickedness continue from his generation to today. It's worse today with more humans on earth.

So, what was accomplished by destroying everything if it starts all over again? Unless God had plans to make things better does this story make sense.

as a former elder i write this response to hopefully help those genuinely feeling “guilt” before their god.

if you are a jehovah’s witness or an “ex-jw” (for example, disfellowshipped or lapsed), then i hope that this will be of help to you.

As you know, Elders are used by the Watchtower Society to teach, discipline, and carry out all functions of the Society. One major function is hold the yearly Memorial. This day is used to show Theocratic Arrangement. The Memorial is just a showing to all its members who is in control. Without fear of Governing Body and the so-called 144,000, the whole religion crumbles. No one really needs to attendance. But, the the Society uses this day to show its power over each non-partaker.

It was a wonderful environment. You literally feel like family!

The Memorial invite was placed on my door a week before the ''The Lord's Evening Meal'' by two young men who handed me the invite and ran off as soon as possible. Luckily,the address of the Kingdom Hall was stamped right in the back of the invite. ( which made it convenient to find since I wasn't too familiar with the area )

After finding the Kingdom Hall, they had many brothers with safety reflective vests directing the parking lot. Thanks to them, it was easy to navigate and find a parking spot.

Once inside, I found everyone dressed to the nines and was greeted by the local Elders. Never have I been shown as much love as this. This place felt so welcoming.

The children were well behaved and not running around like in other churches. They were all seated and ready for this meeting to start.

The Memorial talk was very interesting. It was about the the life of Jesus and his last day on earth.

Everyone was reminded not to eat or drink any of the emblems... numerous times. They passed the bread and wine to everyone in attendance. There must of been at least 10 prayers given and all kinds of the members who stood up and sat down numerous times handing each other these items. ( very confusing but very entertaining )

I was handed the emblems but passed them down since no one else partook. ( at my church we all partook )

The last half of the meeting everyone was reminded on how many meetings there during the week and how to ask for a bible study with the Jehovah's Witnesses.

I encourage all to try to make it to a meeting here. It's well worth it!

After leaving the JWs - Has anyone stayed with Christianity?

i recently made the decision to stop studying with my study conductor, due to a situation i found myself in that led to a high possibility of my unbaptized publisher "rights" being taken away from me.

i have since told my study conductor i have joined a new church (to which she dropped me like a hot rock, of course).... last time i posted on here, i was progressing nicely towards baptism, and was well into it.anyhoo, i like my new church, very hillsong-esqe.

so just wondering if anyone else has stayed the course of christianity after leaving the jws, and if so - where did you go?

After 45 years as a Jehovah's Witness, I walked away from all religions. I put all my trust in these idiots from New York and came away with this:

All religions are created from mortal, sinful men who love power, fame, money, develop large egos, and want human worship. It becomes a means to control people. Religion becomes your judge and jury. You are never good enough and can't never do enough.
